Hello again my lovely Current Community. As you probably remember, last week we featured the fantastic Nettle, who also happens to be the curator of the Otaku channel. Well, this week we have the seriously awesome and passionate Kepano. He posts terrific, interesting and little known stories that are most definitely worth a look. My favorite right now is Row, row, row your board … land paddling has Hawaiin roots, really nifty idea if you ask me.

So, without further delay, check out Kepano’s interview below and get to know him a bit better!

Q: How did you find out about Current? What made you a fan?

A: One day at my friends house watching it on TV channel 900 in Hawai’i Time Warner. The programming was just unbelievable, issues and events happening around the world that many people and peers are unaware of and blinded due to the American Media. Issues that have direct impact in everyday life that people continue to destroy and corrupt our precious planet. Current has influenced my life and made it possible to spread the message to whoever wants to listen or read. If mainstream media was this lax Americans would have simpler lives.

Q: Where do you look for stories to add to Current?

A: All over the place, my homepage is Google News, most of my stories come from there, and many other news sources such as CNN, FOX, BBC, CBS, and local stations and newspapers and wherever there is a story that interests me.

Q: You post all kinds of stories (which is awesome!), but is there something in particular that you’re really passionate about?

A: Hawaiian Issues, Rights, Justices, and influences are what interest me the most. Our culture and peoples have been decimated and people around the world continue to support a government that continues to destroy and consume. Hawai’i has the most military bases than any other State FFS? We have been brainwashed and assimilated by the American Government, our people have only declined. America has so many problems of its own and issues that are right in front of everyone’s eyes and does nothing for the people like us on the bottom living day to day, pay check to pay check. America pays their illegal State of Hawai’i $1 a year for ceded (crown) Hawaiians rightful land for each of their military bases while most 90% of my people still do not own a home and never will. More than 75% of peers my age either leave the islands or are incarcerated in prisons. I hope Current will be able to help me progress our peoples struggles and issues. There are so many reasons why our people are endangered. Hawaiian refers to people descending from the original people’s who have cared for the ‘aina (land) for centuries and not people who think because they move here they are Hawaiian. Big Business owns over 90% of business in Hawai’i, controlled from the same deceitful descendants from the 1700s who continue to desecrate our culture, language, and future.

Q: Okay– we gotta ask. How did you pick your username?

A: Kepano is my middle name and means my dad’s first name, I wanted to change the name a few months after I got the account but you can’t change it, so there that is.

Q: If you could have one Superhero power, what would it be and why?

A: Iron Man rules, he is genius, has all the best technology, he can fly, and I would be able to create and generate technologies that would be able to improve not only my people, but people around the world. With all of the money revolving around our fragile world, we should not have to worry about wars, military, or media that affects people around the world. There should be no hunger, no wars, no homeless, no one left behind, parallel to the true definition of Aloha. If Peace, Love, Unity and One Love can be practiced and instilled to everyone around the world as it has in our people this world we be a better place. If I were Iron Man, I would definitely change the world and free my people. America’s Military Bases would no longer Occupy or continue to Destroy Hawai’i.

And in case you were wondering about the image: This image represents people that have influenced my life, and my great ancestors. Bob Marley, I-Vibes, and Soldiers of Jah Army (SOJA) and Ghandi have influenced my life so much and they opened my eyes to reality and what Big Governments corrupt and destroy. This image began with a picture of Kaho’olawe from the backside of Maui during a march around the island that was to bring awareness and attention to my lost peers.

There you go guys! Don’t forget to go check out Kepano’s profile for a ton of interesting content.

Until next week…
