Howdy Current community! As you probably remember, last time the fabulous Apocalipstick was the featured community member, well, this week we have yet another amazing community member for you guys to check out, Nettle! She’s also now the curator of the Otaku channel,  and if you aren’t really sure what that is, I suggest you go have a look, because there are some seriously interesting, cute and just plain unique items there. Right now I’m stuck on the Ugly cat takes bath video, I think he’s so cute playing in the water!

So, take a look below and get to know Nettle a little better:

Q: How did you find out about Current? What made you a fan?

A: I’m a member of a forum that obsesses about aquatic turtles (nerd). One day, sometime user Kevung asked all of us to help him make connections by adding him as a friend on Current.com. I made a profile, connected to him, and abandoned it for a month. Then I got this obnoxious email asking me why I hadn’t logged in for a while, so I went to the site to bitch, but found myself pulled in by its awesomeness. Everybody give Kevung a pat on the back for getting me into Current.

Q: Where do you look for stories to add to Current?

A: I stumble across stuff most of the time, but reliable sources are JapanProbe, Japanator, Kotaku, DToid, Tomopop, New York Times and Danny Choo.

Q: Okay–we gotta ask. How did you pick your username?

A: Stinging nettle (urtica dioica) is a thorny plant that causes inflammation, redness, and can be very painful, but when dissected and studied it can have numerous medicinal and tasty uses.

Q: If you could have one Superhero power, what would it be and why?

A: Technopathy. I would be the czar of the infowebs. Enemies beware.

(Just for ya’lls information, I was selected to be a featured spotlight before I was a curator, so they did kind of pick a regular person to interview.)

And there you have it, the super cool Nettle. Check out her channel, say hello, or just peruse some of her very interesting items, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Until next week!
